Ansitz Waldner welcomes its guests all year round.
Each season has its own special aspects.

Merancard

The MeranCard is a personalised guest card that you receive at Ansitz Waldner for your entire stay.
It offers you free services and exclusive offers to discover the many different places in the Merano area during your holiday:

Free use of all public transport throughout South Tyrol
Free travel on all public cable cars in South Tyrol
Free admission to around 90 museums, castles and fortresses.
10% discount on bike and ski hire at “Papin Sport” and “Sportservice Erwin Stricker”

The MeranCard is already included in the room price and will be given to you on arrival.

Spring

Nature comes back to life. At Ansitz Waldner you spend the night in direct contact with our orchards. Watch the apple trees blossom pink and take a leisurely stroll in the warm spring sunshine. In bad weather, you can benefit from a day spa (at an extra charge) in the main building, the Romantik Hotel Oberwirt, or relax in the nearby Merano thermal baths.

We also recommend the Merano Waalrunde. This easy hike, which is accessible all year round, connects eleven irrigation channels in South Tyrol. The irrigation channels were once used to irrigate the fields and some of them date back to the 12th century.

Summer

Ideal hiking season. From Ansitz Waldner you can easily reach many starting points for marvellous hikes. Hirzer, Ultental, Vigiljoch – to name just a few. The reception of the Romantik Hotel Oberwirt will be happy to help you organise your excursion. If you prefer something more active, you can try out one of the many South Tyrolean cycle paths. If you wish, you can also hire an e-MTB on site at the main hotel (for an extra charge). Our recommendation on a hot summer’s day: relax in Oberwirt’s shady garden and enjoy a delicious, homemade ice cream from our “Patti”.

Autumn

Harvest time. It’s busy in and around the Ansitz Waldner. South Tyrol’s farmers are bringing in their harvest, which they have been working towards for a long time. At the same time, autumn is also a time for enjoyment. The many South Tyrolean guesthouse cellars tempt visitors with their delicious, traditional specialities. You can soak up the last warm rays of sunshine on long hikes (for exemple along the famous Marlinger Waalweg). A special highlight in autumn is the Merano Grape Festival with its annual parade. A must-see!

Winter

The Ansitz Waldner is ideally located for visiting the many Christmas markets in South Tyrol. You can easily reach the city centre of Meran by bus (with our MeranCard you travel free of charge). Those who prefer fun on the slopes will find what they are looking for in the various ski areas (Meran2000 can be reached in about 30 minutes – there are also Pfelders, Schwemmalm, Schnalstal, Obereggen and many more). Winter is generally the quieter time in the Meran area. The main house also closes its doors for the winter break. Nevertheless, the reception desk is manned and is happy to assist our Ansitz guests.
